Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly recognized as a transformative force in science education
and a strategic driver of national development, particularly in the context of climate change and
sustainability. This paper examines how the integration of AI into science education systems can
enhance national capacity to respond effectively to climate-related challenges. The paper argues
that AI-enabled science education strengthens human capital development by equipping learners
with advanced analytical, computational, and problem-solving skills necessary for understanding
complex environmental systems. Through the application of machine learning, data analytics, and
predictive modeling, students and researchers are better positioned to contribute to climate change
mitigation, adaptation, and sustainable resource management. The paper further explores the role of
AI-integrated science education in supporting innovation, evidence-based policymaking, and the
growth of green and digital economies. Attention is also given to ethical, equity, and governance
issues, including data privacy, algorithmic bias, and unequal access to AI technologies which may
influence the sustainability outcomes of AI-driven development. By synthesizing perspectives
from education, technology and environmental policy, this paper highlights the need for coherent
national strategies that align AI education initiatives with climate action plans and sustainable
development goals. The paper concludes that strategic investment in AI-enabled science education
is essential for fostering climate resilience, environmental sustainability, and inclusive national
development.
