Abstract

Traditional teaching methods in English language that are used universally though effective in
many contexts are becoming insufficient for today's classrooms which are characterized by
discordance in learning styles, capabilities and exposures to technology advancements. The
realm of education is witnessing a transformative integration with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and
central to the formative integration is the emergence of Personalized Learning. Harnessing AI-
Personalized learning in English language teaching and learning present substantial benefits such
as enabling learners adopt to individual user needs, providing immediate feedback. This paper
explores the potentials of AI- Personalized learning in enhancing English language learning and
promote active learning thereby adjusting to individual learners pace, style and proficiency level.
This paper also discusses the challenges and implementation strategies including teacher
capacity building, infrastructural development. Education is becoming more interwoven with
digital innovations, therefore understanding AIs role in personalized learning becomes essential
as this would rid of all challenges thereby making education more effective and engaging.
